ECO2 COP28 Schools Climate Conference

ECO2 COP28 Schools Climate Conference

Since 2021, when COP26 was held in Glasgow, thousands of pupils from schools around the world have taken part in our annual ECO2 COP Schools Climate Conference.

100 schools from 16 countries took part in the ECO2 COP28 Schools Climate Conference. The interactive, online conferences took place on the 6th and 7th December 2023. Pupils were encouraged to share their thoughts, feelings and experiences of climate change, and had the opportunity to ask their climate change and energy questions to a panel of experts. Schools also made pledges of climate action for the year ahead.

To help pupils prepare for the conferences, free, online resources were available. In line with COP28, this years focus was energy. Three lessons were available for each age group (ages 7 – 9, ages 9 – 11, ages 11+):

  • Climate Change and the History of Energy
  • Current Energy Solutions
  • Future Energy Solutions
The resources can be downloaded below. They are available in English and Arabic.
