Annfield Plain Juniors

Annfield Plain Juniors OASES Energy Officer worked with Mrs McGregor to increase engagement with energy saving behaviours and gain understanding of the ongoing fight against Climate change.

As a way to enrich engagement with energy use for pupils, the OASES Energy Officer completed an Eco-day to coincide with the school’s science day. OASES worked with four, KS2 classes, looking at how humans live can affect the planet. The workshops focused on sustainable energy sources and how these can be used to help solve the climate crisis. Pupils learned about the different ways we can generate electricity and why some ways may be better for our planet than others. They experimented with wind and solar energy kits to see which they think would be useful at their school.

Little Changes Have a Big Impact

The children involved in the energy workshops expanded their knowledge of climate change and how it is linked to energy. The children also learnt how they can make changes in school and at home to help save energy. ‘Thank you so much – we had a fab day too!
